2009 West Marine Fun Regatta
2008 WMFR participants, photo by J. Pierce
Thank you!
Thank you so much for joining us for the 2009 West Marine Fun Regatta!
We hope you all had a safe and easy trip home.
We look forward to seeing you and your friends at the 2010 West Marine Fun Regatta.
Save the date - the working date for the next Fun Regatta is September 11 and 12, 2010;
but check back for the latest information. Usually, details are not finalized until July.
The 16th annual West Marine Fun Regatta was
Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, 2009,
hosted by
Santa Cruz Yacht Club
and sponsored by
West Marine
to promote youth sailing.
This year, we were able to lower the early registration fee down
to $35 per sailor - thanks to a donation from
Lighthouse Information Systems, Inc.
Intermediate and advanced sailors aged 8-18
were encouraged to register in one of these fleets:
- 29er
- 420
- Byte
- El Toro Advanced (A)
- El Toro Intermediate (B)
- FJ
- Laser Full Rig
- Laser Radial
- Laser 4.7
- Optimist Blue/Red (ages 11 - 15)
- Optimist White (ages 10 & under)
Sorry, but due to ocean conditions,
this regatta is not appropriate for beginner sailors.
For questions about the regatta, lost and found, etc.,
contact Regatta Coordinator Chuck Murray
[murrac(at)pol.net] or (831)438-4707.
